Twisters and Roller Coasters - Living With Complex Post-Traumatic Stress

Not too long ago, a client, I was the treatment of prescription drug abuse, looked at me and said: "It is my desperate need to silence my feelings that drives me to want to use." They went on to describe what it felt like to live in their skin. "It seems as if the people in my life are the controls in this rollercoaster called my life and I'm caught and I can not grow. I like or hate the trip on how I feel about them at this moment, I Think you are either with me or against me. But I can not control the fire! "

Unbeknownst to this woman, she was verbalizing what part of their underlying problem Complex Post-Traumatic Stress (CPT). For the uninitiated CPT, is a long-term stress disorders, which may affect a person healthy self-concept and adaptation. The exhibited symptoms ranging from fighting with the mood (depression, manic-depression, anxiety); fear of real or imaginary rejection or abandonment, and a range of addicted to self-defeating behaviors, including, bulimia, anorexia, compulsive spending, sexual compulsivity And, perhaps even injury.

Historically say the condition was branded goods Borderline Personality Disorder, or BPD, and was to define the border between neurosis and psychosis-but that is no longer the case. Research and recent progress in the investigation of chronic trauma and its effects on developing countries' own concept and psychological organization has revealed a more accurate concept for the exhibition characterize constellations of symptoms.

No doubts about the emotional struggles of the recurring instability wreck chaos in the life of an individual struggling with this problem. Together with the ups and downs of the emotional roller coaster, the struggle and confusion about identity. An individual with CPT often struggles with a persistently unstable self-image and how a house of mirrors, their own identity is illusory, distorted and warped by a seemingly endless maze of curved, concave or convex mirrors, the confusing images of ones sense of self.

Those are familiar with CPT know only too well the chaos and devastation brought to bear on a relationship. In my experience in working with trauma through the constellation of emotional dysregulation, I have often compared the displays of the impulsive anger that of a cluster bomb. From a furious mass of several smaller sub-munitions. In a fashion show not too dissimilar to a cluster-bomb's defensive and offensive use in war, the rageful, emotional explosions to neutralize any threat posed by the real or imaginary relational rejection, abandonment or disapproval of a beloved one.

While this could serve as a metaphor resonate downright ridiculous it is not far from the truth, that this fight with CPT and those that relate to a loved one's emotional volatility ready to strike at the slightest provocation internal or external. I believe that this metaphor plays directly on the core issue. Those who fight with CPT live an endless roller coaster of defensive and offensive measures summons to frustrate the slightest hint of shame and pain brought on the rejection or abandonment be it real or imagined.

Loved those who have an idealized day will be devalued and rejected and the Next she pointed to the role of the enemy of all, perhaps an act of separation was an act of betrayal. Some struggle with borderline personality have co-affective disorders occur that may still internal stress to the point to experience brief psychotic episodes.

Individuals with CPT often verbalize feeling wrong, misunderstood, and the empty provoked the internal atmosphere, "broil." And as is often the case, the trigger either internally or externally prompts attempts to self-help medicate overwhelming emotions with alcohol and chemical dependency Even harmful behaviour especially intentional acts of self-mutilation (cutting, burning, slashing wrist) and even suicide attempts.

Historically speaking, the prognosis was bad for CPT. Sorry, but within the therapeutic community, customers, present with these symptoms are often unmotivated branded products, difficult to treat, or worse, is not compatible. But despite what was written, is the current belief, and that I really embrace that consistently supportive therapeutic relationship can and will be the foundation of healthy, a client begins to experience confidence and a sense of security. Much is not yet known about the traumatic condition but continued to make progress in the neurobiological, genetic, social and research have helped lead to new treatment modalities postulated and psychopharmacological interventions, which both have to be successful in the long-term and positive change.

So, is there a way out of this maze and madness? The answer is yes, and the path begins with a gradual recognition of the problem and the willingness to accept one's own self. But, you ask What happens if you do not recognize the existence of a problem and therefore is in denial? This undermines any progress towards positive change.

One my favorite lines with reference to the refusal by the young hero, Ricky Fitts in American Beauty : "Do you never the power of denial," says Ricky to explain how he could own and display a wealth of material items purchased "only" with the meager income of a waiter all while living under the subsistence level, vigilant and repressive reign and dominant a homophobic ex-Marine father. In this cinematic example, Ricky's father's denial in relation to his son was given the necessity father withdraw from its worst fears about his son perceived sexuality and by association, on its own. An individual need to remove themselves from not recognised and there is overwhelming feeling up to the time when one is prepared psychologically to see themselves as they really are and not they want for a single be.

Support Attempts at breaking denial is imperative for lasting progress to occur. The presence of a fight or psychological distress does not mean one is a bad man. In this particular case, CPT does not mean that he /she is poor. They have nothing to deserve it, like a very young child has nothing to earn the onset of diabetes in children. However, the individual lives this reality roller coaster of emotions, unstable relationships, addiction, and the feeling of emptiness. The cold hard fact is that is a pattern of self-defeat of unstable behavior and self-worth that will probably not change, unless that person has his own changing.

As is compatible with all physical or emotional distress, there is a moment in time when the "status quo Is no longer acceptable. Unmanageability The chaos or a situation begins to point to ask for help and action. Perhaps the acquittal, not be brought to the knee, is here. A subsequent adjustment period during which you are concerned with a new reality may not be immediate, but this new perspective could arrive with a sobering blow by the refusal or with the quiet recognition that there is life beyond the erosion are exposed. One place to acceptance of self-organization can be realized only perhaps as a result of small, at times imperceptible steps. In the Recovery Console say it is progress, not perfection that leads us "I am not a problem, but my behaviour has become problematic," It is then that I ask my clients, "which would you prefer - determined determined right or happy? "

When we live a life that is no longer results in the performance results graten despite our efforts, then it is time to look inside and ask the hard questions." What do I do that it will no longer work even harder, which I am prepared to do? "Wahrheitsgema up to this moment of introspection and self-motivation involved, there is little if any lasting change to occur. But the way out of the house the mirror and away from the emotional roller coaster is worth the price for access to your new life.

When Trauma Strikes Children - What Teachers and Counselors Should and Should Not Do

Since Hurricane Katrina, we had a lot of questions about this article Reproduction, first published immediately after 9 /11 For more information about children serving in tragedy, visit this page on our website for an extended version of this article. The information below was to help children after the 9 /11 tragedy, but will help to return to children, where the pain of the recent hurricanes ...

Tuesday was a terrible day for the United States. Youth Change workshops extended his sympathy for those of you who have lost loved ones in this tragedy.

As tough as Tuesday was for adults, it can be even harder for children. There is no magic formula for the support of children to cope with events that we all struggle to understand and manage, but here are some basis of "do's" and "Don'ts" to help run the best help the young people in your world.

SPECIAL populations NOTE:

1. Children

Younger Younger children, ages about 5-8, can sometimes understand more than they can handle. Many children under the age of 5 or so, will probably be somewhat spared the brunt of the consequences. The abstract concept of death May something miss them, for example. Children, are a bit older May clearly understand many aspects of the events of Tuesday, but have little ability to cope with the feelings that arise. This age group is especially expected to nightmares, somatic complaints, sleep disturbances or more difficulties than with the two normal everyday life and stress situations.

Do not maintain normal expectations to be addressed. For example: more tolerant of somatic complaints, and especially avoid comments such as "But you can usually sleep alone!" This increases the level of support and contact details. Most important: assistance in coping skills. To do this, make concrete fears and manageable. Example: "It is normal to have trouble sleeping alone after a frightening what happens." Bring the child to limit the time thinking about the scary things, and show the child how to itself or distract. Verbalizing promotion, and the model with phrases such as "I was afraid, when I saw the plane hit the building." Not squelch, limit, or react negatively to any formulations of fear, anxiety or stress. Instead, emphasize the normalcy reaction.

Concrete this action is important for these young people do not always understand abstract concepts. Have the children collect donations for the Red Cross to help pack blankets to send to New York shelters, or other similar activities. Action can teach children that these sad things happen, but as a wallow or live, we can use our grief for the bad situation a little better. This is a valuable skills for lifelong coping.

2. Children in Stress

Children are already worrying times before, may have special difficulties in the turbulent world. These children are children in crisis areas, children with mental health problems, drug-affected youth, children from difficult homes, abused children and children from these others.

As a number of problems there is no simple, one-size-fits-all answer to . However, do increase supervision, be prepared to lead to a deterioration, monitor medication and vigilant on drug abuse and other problematic "coping strategies" methods. Use the above-mentioned strategies for young children, as appropriate. Be particularly tuned in disordered thought and youth work severely depressed, often seriously deteriorate if the world seems far scarier or sadder than usual. See for yourself harm. A child who lives with abuse or other terrible circumstances can be expected to "over-personalize" the situation and over-react. " Be tolerant of these reactions, given the existing challenges child is "normal" reactions to abnormal times.

GENERAL Do's and DON'T'S

1. Flexible: Be prepared to put aside planned activities to help children manage the tragedy - whether it is "your job" or not to do so. You can not learn or other activities as profoundly worried, frightened or distracted and may not kids.

2. Calm: Talk about other challenges facing this country is facing and how the country overcome. For example, if you remember, President Kennedy's assassination, talk about how creepy sense that you and how they overcame the crisis.

3. REFER: Give specific details from his childhood, how your response to the assassination of JFK, to show how today's children can overcome today's trauma.

4. Be honest, but concise: Convey information to an age-appropriate level, but keep it brief and not add unnecessarily scary details. Non-sugar-coat, even kindergartners can read your vibes.

5. Limiting the exposure of violence: Do not allow children and young people see the news nonstop. Be particularly thoughtful about their exposure to violent films, books, games, etc. during this period, especially in the vicinity of bed time or if they must concentrate on learning, or another task.

6. Efforts to eventual closure: No one can really make sense of Tuesday, but eventually you can contribute to a sense of closure as best you can. This may mean looking for something good to all, may lead, as our country is more united today. Or the closure may be more spiritual or just the acceptance this time. Stress that time is usually the most pain.

7 easier. Acceptance: Troubled children often act in ways that are problematic. Take deterioration without guilt. Since the crisis began, you may have noticed that you had difficulties remember where your car keys, or maybe you have had trouble concentrating at work. This is normal. If I criticize that you lose your car keys that only your situation, is not it? Children can their findings in distress similar or more dramatic way. They received no additional burdens to be borne by downgrading them for their deterioration. It does not mean that you accept or permit behavior problems, but that you take into account the context determine how your reaction.

Bipolar Disorder Checklist - I Think I Might Be Bipolar

Bipolar disease can be a challenging thing to see because it contains both depressive and manic symptoms. This article is common symptoms to help those that they may think they know more.

Bipolar disease consists of two and manic depressive states. Please note that you had a large part of the time, and the experience of others only occasionally, and you would still be considered to Bipolar.

A or manic state of mania typically consists of:

An elevated mood
Reduced Need for sleep
Sudden weight loss
Impulsive
Reckless
Poor concentration

Reading on the symptoms, you may think to yourself, all these experiences at one time or another, and you are right. To qualify as clinical manic state, the symptoms must severe.

A depressed state of the rule consists of:

A depressive
sleeping too much loss of interest

Declining motivation
not want to social

This general overview of the symptoms is certainly not comprehensive, and is just about to give you an idea of what you're looking for. Again, I stress that in order to meet a clinical depressed state, you have to see that this is a degree that there is a negative interference in your life. For example, a state could hold you from getting back to work. Another example would be if he would start to impact your wedding, or the relations between people in your environment in a negative fashion.

If you feel that you may be bipolar, and have seen that the symptoms were a negative Influence on your life, I would encourage you to seek professional help. Bipolar disorder is very treatable, there is hope!

A Tribute to Snapple's Fun Facts - Increasing the Ability to Concentrate

Snapple drinks are beneficial for two reasons (probably along with many others): satisfy their different tastes grater your picky palate, and the entertaining and accurate facts on the back of the lid stimulate the mind. I typically remember these facts and use them as conversation starters at parties (this is probably the reason why I have no friends.) "... Yes, you guys know that Giraffes have no vocal cords?" And then the conversation developed, and we somehow speak at the end of some terrible pop singer and how we wanted it does not exist (I think we all know, I'm here to relate.) These small aluminum lid promote the development of many interesting conversations.

I remuneration steel my thirst recently by grabbing a Snapple peach. I was so thirsty that I do not care to look under the lid until I had my first fixed dehydration. "Goldfish have a 3 second attention." I actually have the time to count to three, adding the "Mississippi" between the figures to ensure that I do not count too fast. What can you possibly accomplish in three seconds normal? The challenging one to three, I suppose? I started on my attention and how it has gotten progressively shorter and shorter over the years. In fact, I have recently realized that I had acquired so many different types of hobbies, just because I tired, they quickly take over and something new (This change occurs quite often.) I also have my fault strategically lousy SAT Reviews on my lack of ability to concentrate for more than thirty minutes at a time. In an attempt to identify a trend and the cause of this unfortunate fever, I decided to ask several people to evaluate their maximum length of each concentration. Assuming that they all will have some wahrheitsgema, the results were not good. The lengths between fifteen minutes to one hour. I have here a trend, however. Are you ready?

Solely based on my "research" I have people with the shortest attention spans watched the most television. Could it be that flipping channels to avoid monotonous advertising to help this concentration dilemma? Consider this. ADD (Attention Deficient Disorder) is rarely clinically diagnosed in Asian countries and seem only dramatically in the United States. In fact, it is present, as the increase of all grate psychosocial problems in the American adolescents and children. How often do you think Asians are sitting in front of the TV for hours nonstop? Probably rarely, if ever. I personally my fault "ADD" on television.

I believe, however, that there is a way to improve the concentration (and no, not by consumption absurd amounts of caffeine or Adderall.) I think you have to learn how to train your mind to concentrate amounts for a long time. Here are just a few things I've found to help in enhancing the ability to longer.

1.) Stop watching hours and hours of television. Limit is one hour long a day.

2.) Get much sleep, so you're not down 16 cups of coffee in the morning.

3.) Read books (including nonfiction). Many people, including myself, do not complain about the care of novels and therefore not read at all. There are some fantastic CDs from there.

4.) Cook gourmet meals. Take a whole day to waste your time and energy in the kitchen. As a bonus, your stomach will applaud you (or hate you, depending on what you) .

5.) Exercise. This has actually proven to increase concentration. Do not allow yourself with your ability minimum. Slide. Your body will thank you.

There are probably several other things you can do to improve your concentration, but these are only a few that I found helpful. Let us spoil you in your passions, and the concentration of naturally.

I 'd thank Snapple and its lid for spark my interest in this topic.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD - War Trauma)

It was estimated that 30% of Vietnam war veterans, 10% Gulf War veterans, 6% to 11% Afghanistan war veterans and 12% to 20% of veterans from the Iraq war have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. This is an anxiety disorder can develop after exposure to that one or more frightening events.

The history of PTSD date back to the early 1800's, where military doctors began soldiers with the diagnosis of "exhaustion" after the stress of battle. This "exhaustion" was characterized by mental shutdown due to the individual or collective trauma. Around this time, there was a syndrome in England as "station spine" or "hysteria train bares a resemblance to what we call PTSD today. This was accepted by the people had been found in the catastrophic rail accidents of that time.
in World War I and II, the term "shell shock" and combat fatigue "were terms used to describe veterans, showed stress and anxiety after being in battle. The official name of the "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder" does not come until 1980 at the third edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) was published.

This anxiety disorder occurs when you are afraid your body and activates the Fight or flight response. This reaction to combat releases adrenaline, which is responsible for raising your blood pressure and heart rate and the increase of glucose to the muscles (so that you can run away quickly in the face of immediate danger). But if this risk has your body begins to go through a process shut down the stress response, and this process is the release of another hormone called cortisol. If your body does not produce enough cortisol to shut down the stress response can you continue to feel the effects of adrenaline. Trauma victims develop post-traumatic stress disorder often have higher other stimulating hormones (catecholamines) under normal conditions under which the threat of trauma is not present. The same hormones kick when they recalled their trauma.

Military Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a very serious disease with symptoms such as self-harm, anger, violence and drug addiction and depression. All these are common symptoms of Military Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and unfortunately affects thousands of soldiers each year have been waiting for, in the armed forces. The treatment Military Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is done through psychotherapy and basic advice but a lot of time and patience.

Sadly a number of people who have and the suffering of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, also known as "war trauma", is said That enormous rise in the coming years due to the number of soldiers are fighting in areas such as Helmand and Basra. There are concerns that the Iraq war produces more cases of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder than in any other conflict for decades one of the main reasons is that the violence was so widespread, and exposure to as constant over long periods of time. The suicide bombers, roadside checks mines and the constant threat of attack in Iraq war provides a unique challenge for the mental health of soldiers in the service of it.

If you are one of those suffering and thinking are the assertion of claims for compensation for you then suffer you should do so immediately. It is your civil and legal entitlement to compensation for injuries, psychological and mental. No one should suffer in silence.

My Son No Longer Takes Medicine For ADHD

My son, Bradley was 7, when he was diagnosed with ADHD. I am not someone who turns immediately to medicines, but we were not the necessary results with some of the natural things that we wanted. I was told by doctors that drugs would not help, add or ADHD, unless the person really needed. At first, when my son started Adderall is a huge improvement. I felt a little better because of what the doctors had said. He started in a small dose of 5 mg. It was not long before this dose, he was no longer the results at the beginning. The dosage was increased to 10 mg. The same happened. It worked well at the beginning with decreasing results over time. The dose was raised again to 15 mg. Each was the increased dosage, adverse effects also increased.

Some these side effects if:

  • He did not want to eat.
  • He could not sleep at night.
  • He did not grow much for 3 years.
  • He was easily frustrated when the medicine wore.
  • He looked like a zombie in the school.
  • He could not focus, if the drug contributed.
  • He did not enjoy everything. He had
  • night mares.

This is only some of the adverse effects that he personally suffered. I was told by a friend was that conditions such as serotonin help my son. I searched on Yahoo for serotonin and found a natural product called New Becalm'd. New Becalm'd gives the brain the nutrients needed to produce the neurotransmitter that children with ADHD need. In my research I learned that Adderall worked mainly with dopamine in the brain and New Becalm'd gives the brain the nutrients to increase dopamine course. It also helps to balance all neurotransmitter of the central nervous system, particularly serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine and GABA. I ordered new Becalm'd for my son and within 2 weeks I started to see improvements. He could concentrate on their homework better. He came home from a friend of the house and said he had fun. That was something I never heard him say while he was on drugs. He has also not easily frustrated, as he did when the drug wore. I reduced the amount of Adderall and gave him the new Becalm'd together with his medication to school. I then stopped the Adderall and he was from since. Bradley is now 16 and in a Junior High School. He makes good grades and he speaks College. He went from one of the smallest children in its class to one of the highest. He is no longer hyper. All the side effects of drugs are gone. Do not be fooled by the ADHD drugs. It could be a big improvement at the beginning as I do. But over time, the dose must be increased and then, the side effects. Eventually they will be even more drugs to treat the side effects of the first drug. I thank God I found a natural product, it was my son from drugs.

Six Steps to Living With Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

Perhaps you suspect you are one of the 3 million American adults, from obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Or maybe you or a loved one has been diagnosed with this condition. What comes next?

As a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of OCD and related disorders, I have the following suggestions to help you, wise choices.

1 treatment. If you have not yet been officially diagnosed with OCD, do not assume you have it, because your friends told you so, or because you if your door locks, or because they are sometimes called "inappropriate" thoughts. The fact is that OCD cause considerable fears for its stakeholders. Some people, whether their door locks every time they leave the house, someone with OCD may have, whether it forty times every morning. While almost every one of us have some strange ideas about our heads, an individual with OCD can cling only for one day, worrying why she had the idea. The point is this: If you believe OCD, you will receive a professional opinion and a formal diagnosis.

2. If you have just diagnosed with OCD, in the treatment and medication. Talk therapy is not only very helpful for people with obsessive compulsive disorder, it is of crucial importance. Drugs you can use the techniques you learn in therapy to manage your OCD, they are not "cure" it.

3. Choose a therapist wisely. Not advertises the help of a therapist, you can only with "depth" therapy, will examine your childhood and what your obsessions symbolize today from your history. Their obsessions of the current legal situation is not, in fact, represent something different than what they are: thoughts repeat that in a loop. In the literature suggest that not only the depth of therapy to help you, it may actually harm the person with OCD. The more you focus on your obsessions or constraints, the stronger they are. On the other hand, OCD respond incredibly well to cognitive behavior therapy, focusing on the control and management of your symptoms. As practitioners of both cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic therapy, I can certainty.

4 with these statements. Accept that you have a medical condition, mental and behavioural disorders manifestations. I do not believe that anyone as what we now know about OCD, can be argued that, other than a primary medical condition. An individual lack of internal resources to address the symptoms is what therapies and medication. To the best of my knowledge, nobody has ever been "cured" of OCD. Rather, we want to reduction.

5 symptom. The reduction in OCD thoughts and behaviour changes your brain. Every time the person with OCD turns on an obsession in his head over and over again, or reviewed the door forty times, they create neural cars in the brain, making the symptoms stronger. Conversely, every time that same person changes in their response to the feeling that "something is wrong," they create new and, hopefully, improved neuronal ways to strengthen the new behavior. Change your answer is much easier with the help of medication.

6. Finally, if you feel strong enough, try the mood in your symptoms. In general, people need to laugh as much as possible. People with OCD, I believe, still need to laugh more. Let's face it, OCD can be depressing if it stuck, and there are close links between chemical OCD and depression. Digging for the lighter side of the OCD, but it should be done only when you're done. A professor of mine once told the story of the treatment of a young lady with OCD for many months. Their best-known symptom was the idea of repeated killing of her child. Frustrated by months of no progress in case he began the next meeting, he matter-of-factly, "yes, you have to kill the child?" His attempt to make fun of their obsession back, as the client never showed again.

So, as you will find the mood in a dark obsession? One time, a colleague of mine pointed out the central role of depreciation disturbing thoughts with the words: "I just had the wildest idea of killing my family in the subway this morning. Do allergies." This kind of thinking could send someone with OCD in a tailspin: "Why did I get this thought? What does this mean? Am I a killer just waiting to do something?" If this sounds like you, the next time you have such thinking (and you will) concentrate on coming with a humorous allocation of thought, but a sinister one. Remember that if you were a killer-in-waiting, would you not ask why you have these thoughts. It would probably not find out what weapons to use!

These are just a few suggestions, there are many approaches, depending on the information you and your symptoms. Following these basic principles, but will help you on your way to live, despite OCD!

Children With Autism - Tips on How to Show Them Affection

"heartbreaking" - that is the word some people use to describe their efforts failed to show love for children with autism. Parents, teachers and caregivers of autistic children may wonder how to ensure that a child who seems withdrawn, unreachable and disinterested to show affection.

It is true that many autistic children have a problem when it comes to affection, but it would be wrong to say that all autistic children can not receive affection. This is a myth. An autistic child processes sensory touch different than a normal child. Therefore, autistic children can be affectionate, but it would be in their own terms.

So if you wonder how you can be affectionate towards a autistic child, here are some suggestions for you:

  • Seek first understand

How autism impact on a person's life and the ability to function ranges from mild to severe. One could say that autism affects one person in a wide range of possibilities. They do not all react the same way. The way they react to almost everything differently for each child. Some do nothing against bear hugs. Some can not even stand, which held her arm. Some are in a position to be affected by close family members, not strangers or friends. By trial and error, you must learn what kind of hug or touch is acceptable to them.

  • Give warnings before you touch them.

An autistic child who is hypersensitive to touch may be agitated, upset and even violent, when unexpectedly affected. So always approach the child from the front and give a warning before they touch. For example, say the child will assist it in the car seat. They do not just him.

  • not in force hugs them.

If you think you are an autistic child could use a hug, come to their level and invite them with open arms. Talk with the child and let them decide whether they want a hug or not. Do not violate their personal space, but let them invade your space. If they refuse your offer, not feel offended. It is probably not what they need at this time.

  • try other ways to show affection.

Hugs and touches are not the only to show affection. You can verbal encouragement and positive comments coupled with a loving smile. You can also use hand gestures like a thumb. Affection could also take the form of nice to do something for them or them a gift they will appreciate.

Every autistic child is different. The construction bond takes patience. If your child has a problem with affection, not discouraged. Learn more about autistic behaviour, so you do not hold to unrealistic expectations. Communicate with other parents, the children with autism to see how they have coped with the issue, then experiment with the different ways to see what works for you. Be positive thinking and how they learn to speak a different kind of love with your autistic child.

ADD-ADHD, Children and the Effects of Sleep Disorders

Kevin: This is incredible stuff. [Laughs] I'm saying, "Wow!" to everything. It is amazing. You do not think about it, you know that the impact sleep, and the benefits they have until you see, you know that some of the things that happens to people who do not get enough sleep.

Dr. Breus: Oh, there's no question about it. And here is another area. Even if you do not even even if you are not interested in your own health, Kevin - and I know that you and I are both - but even if some of [these may] say: "Well, yes, I sleep fine . It is not that a great deal.. " Let's talk about your children sleep only a second here.

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: Okay. Children, when it appears in this study blew me away. Twenty-five percent of children are apparently diagnosed with ADD and ADHD are indeed found to have a childhood sleep disorder.

Kevin: Twenty-five percent.

Dr. Breus: Twenty-five percent . Now, what is the normal, you know, treatment regiment of a child, add or ADHD?

Kevin: Ritalin.

Dr. Breus: Mm Hmm. Ritalin is a stimulant and it prevents children from sleep. So, here is the problem. They keep a child on Ritalin, has a really sleeping, now you have messed up their sleep even worse.

Kevin: Yeah.

Dr. Breus: Now you have a vicious circle. And think children are sleepy. What are they doing? I have a five-year-old and a three-year-old. When my children are sleepy, you know what they are doing? You do not say "Daddy, I want to lie down and take a nap." You get rambunctious.

Kevin: Yeah.

Dr. Breus: and they look like ADHD children!

Kevin: [Laughter] Yeah.

Dr. Breus: Right?

Kevin: right, right. [What does that ...]

Dr. Breus: And it is very easy for the practitioner to ask the question not to sleep as soon as the child [can] ADHD and glue them Ritalin.

to Kevin: Yes. What ...

Dr. Breus: And that is, you know, I have no problem with many of the pharmacological treatment of ADHD. What I have a problem with misdiagnosis.

Kevin: Yeah.

Dr. Breus: So once again it's a big, big problem. I would like to refer to a section I call "Looking better with better sleep" .

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: It is not to abuse. But it is to say: "We all want to feel good. We all want to look good. We all want to feel refreshed. We all want to be ready for the day." And I want people to know and understand how sleep can affect, you know, all these areas.

Kevin: [Yes], this is the fountain of youth. You know, this is the search for a youthful, lively appearance.

Dr. Breus: Mm.

Kevin: and energy. So, I think this is right along the line.

Dr. Breus: Well. Then let us talk about it. 'Cause, as I call it "Beauty Sleep" .

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: and you know that it is not to be confused "Sleeping Beauty" .

Kevin: [Laughter]

Dr. Breus: But "Beauty Sleep" is really the time-out that your body needs to cellular Repairs. And deep sleep, when actually your skin repairs itself. [Now] when I talk about deep sleep, remember I'm talking about that "delta sleep" .

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: , deep sleep, this stage three and four sleep. That the people must all be aware. This is the time when new growth of cells, you have an enrichment of defense against moisture loss, and free radical damage.

Kevin: Okay.

Dr. Breus: Okay. Also, another big factor is sleep - you are not in the sun. So, you are not always harmful UV rays, while lying in bed, hopefully. So once again, things to think - we know that free radicals damage increases the ageing process. We know that moisture loss can lead to wrinkles, dry skin, [cerisis], all these other problems. And so you can sleep, you can simply build again all the damage you've already done to your skin and health in the day.

Kevin: Okay. Then moisture loss, what do you mean by moisture loss? Do you mean ...

Dr. Breus: Also, I mean everything from sweat, evaporation in intra-cellular moisture loss.

Kevin: Okay, Dr. okay.

Breus: Okay. So we are talking about during the "Beauty Sleep" deep sleep or an increase in protein production, is the building blocks of cell growth and repair. So one of the things that we know is during sleep when your body is asleep, they can change your cell proteins. What does this mean? It allows for rebuilding or re-strengthening of the cells. Okay, everything from muscle cells to skin cells. Also, it is not necessarily just about aesthetics, beauty, but it is also about the muscles. It is about perception. It is about the effective exercise by the possibility to sleep effectively. Now one of the things that I speak - and I joke about this - is that I call him Doctor GH appears in idle. Dr. GH is for Dr. growth hormone, or Human Growth Hormone.

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: Now, what is interesting in deep sleep or stages three and four sleep is when the highest peak of human growth hormone. Okay. Well, so what does that mean? Now, growth hormone is responsible for many different areas of [development]. Everything from tissue repair to [cellular] placement, that even [nap serve] as a brain function. Okay, so what are the areas Growth hormones affects the most in the body? Well, we see that there Revitalizes the immune system. Also remember that I was in discussion before about how some of these flu shots do not work so well ...

Kevin: Yeah.

Dr. Breus: , if you are sleep deprived?

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: This is a direct relationship to growth Hormone.

Kevin: Okay.

Dr. Breus: Okay. We are talking about reducing the risks of [oxyo-perosis], okay, with more growth hormone. We are talking about restoring skin elasticity. And there's another area that people do not know very much about the "I was invested significantly in the reading is called" The [Arteriole] Aging. So, what is interesting, just like any other part of our body, our artery have a tendency to age. The ageing process can be accelerated or in some cases slowed by the presence or absence of growth Hormone.

Kevin: Okay.

Dr. Breus: Right. So, if you deprive themselves of sleep and you are not enough Growth hormones cause you do not get enough deep sleep, your arteries would be ageing faster.

Kevin: Okay, and some of the negative impact of Ageing of the arteries?

Dr. Breus: Well, you know, there is a Zillion of them.

Kevin: Yeah.

Dr. Breus: Let & # 39;'s talk about just a couple. Much is a you may have an increase in blood pressure. What happens when high blood pressure? You have an increase in fluid retention, and that can lead to these large pockets Puffy among people eyes.

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: Well, not me wrong, it is not like Puffy eyes is the only thing I want to talk about, because high blood pressure [in another cell] is a huge factor.

Kevin: Sure.

Dr. Breus: Okay, it is a huge factor for the health. But if people are to me and they say: "You know, Michael, how can I get these bags under my eyes?" One of the first things I tell them is "Get a little more sleep." .

Kevin: Yeah.

Dr. Breus: Okay, now do not get me wrong. If your mother and your grandmother, and everyone had these genetic bags under the eyes, well, then you may have genetically as well. And no amount of sleep to get rid of May those.

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: But if you notice that [they] were coming in for you know for quite some time, and you know that you are already deprived of sleep and such things, then yes, this could be a big factor. Even people must recognize that the area under your right eye sometimes have small deposits of fat in them. And sometimes that can cause the bags under his eyes. These approaches are actually fat padding for your eyeball.

Kevin: Okay.

Dr. Breus: Okay. So, sometimes, that the protective measures in nature. And we must recognize that sometimes it's okay a thing.

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: Another important factor of sleep deprivation and arterial aging is the decline circulation.

in Kevin: Okay.

Dr. Breus: Okay. So the blood does not move as quickly because the arteries are not as efficient. Well, the thin piece of skin in the body is located directly under your eye.

Kevin: This is the reason why it shows the most.

Dr. Breus: That & # 39;'s right, gotcha. Raccoon eyes, as they are better known.

Kevin: Mm hmm.

Dr. Breus: Okay. And the decline in circulation will give you a lifeless skin color. The reason why the people are healthy and will lead to lively blood flows through their skin and they have rosy red cheeks. So, once more, sleep deprivation, you know, several, as you look and feel.

Kevin: Dr. Breus has some slides and we do some of these is available. There are pictures here. They are fairly easy to say how Puffy eyes, the difference that you can see. Also, we make this available for everyone to take a look at.

Dr. Breus: Absolutely. The second area I want to go into the talks still on the fountain of youth is weight gain. You know, we all struggle with this in various forms and fashions throughout our life. Sometimes it's easy to lose weight. Sometimes it's hard to lose weight. Sometimes, when you walk past thirty, or you go past forty, or you go past fifty, it may be easier or more difficult. Believe it or not, within the last two to three years, made several impressive new research results come. And this research has shown that sleep deprivation is weight gain.

Kevin: Wow! Say it again? [Laughs]

Dr. Breus: sleep deprivation equivalent weight gain.

Kevin: [Laughter] Look at the nutrition are the way to work guys! [Laughs]

Dr. Breus: Well, here is what I would say. I would say: "Many of the diet would work if you get a good night's sleep." .

Kevin: There you go. [Laughs]

Neurofeedback Therapy Treatment Has Many Benefits

In per day and age, in which advances in medical technology are the breakthroughs in health, it may seem odd to many that an increasing number of people looking for alternative arrangements to address their health problems. But one reason is that many of these innovations are dependent upon prescription drugs, which have proved to be riddled with negative side effects and even death, and was later pulled from the market. For those who are not prepared to be human guinea pigs for the pharmaceutical companies, alternative treatments, such as neurofeedback therapy is a viable option.

This type of therapy is a complementary approach and can be combined with other types of treatment, including drugs. Often patients are able to successfully reduce the quantity of drugs they must take, and in time, a certain percentage can even improve their condition to the point that they no longer need medication, but can their condition through an ongoing Biofeedback program.

Many individuals notice results in only 8-10 meetings, and usually after 20-25 meetings with biofeedback therapists, they have developed the ability to practice biofeedback techniques without the need of machines.

Neurofeedback biofeedback therapy is a special Kind of biofeedback treatment in the use of electrodes. The electrodes are forehead with a patient to capture and amplify the signals brainwave. These signals are in a biofeedback device that produces a visual representation of the person brainwave patterns that the patient and doctor can biofeedback together.

Through several sessions of therapy, the patient learns with the help of the biofeedback therapists, how to change on their own activities Brainwave. How brainwave activity is subject to change, the resulting physiological changes can be observed and measured the patient with a clearer understanding of the mind-body connection and their own potential and power to control the subtle systems of their therapy has been body.

Neurofeedback demonstrated that a very effective method to many different symptoms, such as in connection with anxiety, attention, depression, Anger Management, sleep loss, stress, attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity. The focus of most biofeedback therapist is to reduce the symptoms of the patient and increase their long-term personal success.

This process can be very empowering and gives people a feeling for the first time ever that they are responsible for their own health and Bodily functions in such an extent that they could not know before participating in training.

It Biofeedback has been shown that patients should be selected for participation in neurofeedback training on the basis of their motivation and commitment. A biofeedback treatment is not a method, the "done" or "for" a patient, as with most mainstream medical methods, but it requires that the patient is actively involved in the process. You must learn to truly train, to control their physiological reactions, contributing to know and the inclusion of their brainwave activity.

During course of neurofeedback therapy program, a patient will learn to control their brainwave activity as they observe the Activities in the biofeedback device, and then learn to perform mental techniques to changes in this activity. By practicing concentration and visualization methods over time, the person in the position to learn how to use the right technology and to ensure that the desired changes in their own without assistance from the biofeedback equipment.

Can Food Prevent Dementia?

My aunt was a wonderful loving, kind woman who had dementia the last seven years of her life. It was sad to see how they affected their lives. The first, I was aware it was when a neighbor called me (I lived one hour away) and told me my aunt had answered her door to pay only their underwear. This was not normal behavior for a 87-year-old woman. I took immediate steps they have a full-time care provider so that they could remain in their own home.

Dementia is defined as the loss of intellectual abilities, including memory, disrupts the social and occupational functioning. It may be caused by circulatory problems, reducing the blood flow to the brain or it could be that of brain trauma or injury. The injuries could have taken place several years before the loss of memory.

According for optimal health of the university is published by www.thewellgroup.com; "Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the best know, the type of dementia, it is to the interruption of normal brain cell function. Two hallmarks of AD are abnormal amounts of protein plaques and tangles in the brain. This rule affected regions of the brain responsible for learning and memory. "

" The good news is that a large number of studies show That certain dietary factors may determine whether the brain remains healthy in old age or not, "said J Nutri Health Aging 2006; 10:386.

the doctor in Integrated Wellness in Bountiful, Utah teach their patients that the Mediterranean diet is linked with a multitude of health benefits, including the defense dementia. This diet is an optimal ratio of lean proteins (especially from fish), legumes, fruits, vegetables and unsaturated fats simply, usually in the form of olive oil.

Researchers this diet study found a reduced risk of AD. The diet also slows the progression of the disease in people who had already AD.

As people diagnosed with age for some of their food choices often too low. This can negatively skew food intake. One study of the diet on board proposes graer the variety of food available to older adults to prevent health complications all types.

The study also found that eating foods that are easily converted to energy, along with protein Increases the intake of vitamins D, B2, B6 and a variety of other important B vitamins. B-vitamin is associated with cognitive function. Foods rich in vitamin B are salmon, beef, eggs, peanuts, broccoli, asparagus, red peppers, spinach and romaine lettuce.

Another interesting study as part of the landmark Physician's Health Study, researchers at Harvard University examined various aspects of the Health for 4000 people over a period of about 18 years.

The study showed that people 65 and older, had beta-carotene for the entire duration of the study 18 years scored significantly higher on tests for the general perception and verbal memory than those the placebo .

A new French study looked at more than 8000 elderly people and found that this fish ate, weekly reduced their risk of AD as much as 35 percent. The study also found that the risk of developing dementia is of 50 percent, if you do not eat fish or fish oil. 1 gram a fish oil supplement, with a 50 percent reduction in dementia.

Due to water pollution, many fish contain high levels of toxins and heavy metals like mercury and PCB's, the impact on the health of the brain. There is recommended to avoid swordfish, tilefish, shark, snapper and king mackerel, because they all are known to have high levels of mercury. Graere longer lived species are most vulnerable to contamination.

Other studies suggest eat garlic for cognitive health, especially aged garlic extract, because it actually stopped deterioration in the brain of the hippocampus, which plays a key role in the Memory Function. Also apples, which are rich in antioxidants and can prevent decline in cognitive performance associated with aging and dietary deficiencies.

There has been much research done that shows that certain dietary factors may determine whether the brain remains healthy in old age or not. I have only touched on some of the studies that have been made in connection with what we eat and how it related to dementia.

Stress Illness and Un-Forgiveness

Un-forgiveness can devastate our minds, emotions, body and spirit of the vibrant health. If we irreconcilable our sense of well-being and the ability to create inner peace, goes right out the window. If we can not forgive, we invite maintain and so many of the negative thoughts and emotions that perpetuate stress. And these thoughts and feelings could lead to illness.

Un-forgiveness is usually accompanied by any or all of the following emotions: Grief, lack of acceptance, anger, frustration, disappointment, Apathy, revenge, feelings of abandonment, betrayal, rejection, fear, confusion, anxiety, overwhelmed, victim awareness, and insecurity.

Think of un-forgiveness as a road block on your peace of mind and well-being. Imagine for a moment that each of these emotions were a heavy burden exerts a 10-pound stone the whole day. You have been with some frustration, lack of acceptance, overwhelmed and sadness as a result of something that in your life, too. These four heavy stones are equivalent to 40 pounds burden.

What effect is the 40-pound load on your emotional, mental and physical well-being? How long would you like to carry around a sack of 10 pounds of bricks, if you really do not have to?
forgiveness is expansionary, non-restrictive and weightless.

forgiveness is usually characterized by the following qualities and emotions: the adoption, compassion, mercy, trust, peace, peace, patience, love , Gratitude, willingness, courage, faith, so that, joy, inspiration, understanding and perpetuates connection.

Forgiveness less stressful thoughts, feelings, acts and practices. Forgiveness is the gatekeeper to a life without shame, guilt, sentencing and all the other negative emotions of the properties and deny us a life worth living. Forgiveness granted us the privilege and the ability to live in the present without projecting our individual and fear stories from our past to future.

When choose, we decide to forgive us for the life of a life of personal freedom. We choose to honor the humanity of others as well as our own. Forgiveness begets a healthier body, mind and soul. The act of forgiveness can lower your blood pressure, squash fear redeem your sense of security, rest your body, mind and emotions and acceptance many of the physical symptoms we are seeing with illness.

When I find myself struggling to forgive someone or something in my life I remember that the election to Practice UN-forgiveness is the choice to perpetuate negative thoughts, emotions and behaviour, maintain stress and feed illness.

In my own experience, I have realized that there comes a point where the election to maintain un-forgiveness requires my willingness to assume the role of victims and perpetrators. So, if a negative situation happens in my life, it is necessary to my well-being that I still know how long the actual event takes place over how long I choose to feed my history of this event with UN forgiveness.

For example : If I am the victim of a hit and run accident of the accident may have lasted a few moments from start to finish. But when I see this story of un-forgiveness and I choose the idea to build evidence of my being a victim of circumstances and wrong for the next ten years, there will be ME, the role of the perpetrators. I will commit a crime against myself.

The incident of the challenges me to forgive plays only once in reality, (someone my car and flees from the scene), but it is I play this scene over and over again over the years to come in my negative thoughts, emotions and behaviour continuation of crime and my commitment to un-forgiveness, if I myself.

The original perpetrators can act only once, but I run the risk to eternal victims and perpetrators of an emotionally, mentally and physically unhealthy Practice against me if I keep un-knowingly in place.

Forgiveness forgiveness is a choice, and it has become one of my best allies in living a life beyond stress and illness.

Claustrophobia - Imagine What Your Life Would Be Like Without It!

If You have a fear of closure regelmaigen away in closed rooms, or feelings of fear or panic, if you are in a closed space, it might well be suffering from claustrophobia. In fact, many people suffer from claustrophobia, for which there are only a few causes a mild discomfort, but for the other result can be a debilitating panic attack.

Typically characters must be respected:

  • the need for a possible exits when entering a confined space.

  • want to sit or stand close the door.

  • feeling uncomfortable when all doors and windows are closed in a room.

  • avoid enclosed spaces such as elevators, aircraft or trains.

  • Claustrophobia usually develops after an unpleasant experience in childhood, or from a frightening experience with intensively confined spaces. These can then memories establishment of an association between the brain is in a closed room and the feelings of wanting to escape or very frightened or control.

Over the years that I've ever seen countless cases of claustrophobia be successfully resolved with the effective techniques of deep EFT, NLP and Clinical hypnosis, and if a client makes first contact to ask for help one of the first questions I am usually asked is "How long is the treatment?" The answer of course depends on your personal circumstances and why you learned to fear of confined spaces in the first place.

For example, I was recently contacted by two people on the same day, both ask for help in an intense fear before flying, and both need to essential flights in the very near future. Both cases have had an intense fear of being included in the closed area of the cabin of an aircraft without escape routes. Fears that she had for years and had now developed into a general phobic reaction to enclosed spaces. But these two cases were very different.

The first case was a "simple phobia", consisting of a very bad flight experience, more than 20 years earlier and with the help of some EFT (emotional freedom techniques) this simple case was completely resolved in half an hour. The second case was quite different and was the result of a sexual assault on a young woman in a very small and narrow space, again many years earlier. In this second case was far from easy, and it took several meetings over a period of a few months to solve all the problems, but finally they were all resolved and the person in question was finally able to travel on trains and airplanes, take the elevator and wait patiently in a traffic jam, without fear or distress.

Why I say this? Because I want you to know that there is never any need to suffer in silence.

Help is just a phone call away and with the right techniques, you can begin to experience relief from the fear of enclosed spaces, however, very quickly. Prevention, usually means that you sell yourself short and not on many areas of life and the opportunities pleasures.

Remember we are only born with two fears, the fear of falling and loud noises and sudden. Everything else is learned, and the really good news is that what has been learned can be forgotten! So do not suffer in silence, find a qualified doctor and make an appointment for your fears today. You will not regret it it.

autism - This is the most common of the five different autistic disorders and is typically an individual throughout their life. Although they can influence individuals to another level, most of them difficulties in social behavior, language skills and other problems. It is generally recognised by the time a person is three years old.

Any type of autism is best treated if detected early in the child's life. Unfortunately, there is no known cure for any form of autism, but there are some promising therapies, which can help the child and those who care for them.

Positive Disengagement - Good For the Caregiver - Good For the Person With Dementia

In my training seminars I sometimes with a Zen-board. It is a rectangular "image" with a black frame, but the "image" is empty. It looks like an Etch-a-Sketch screen, unless that from an unusual material and paper instead of buttons Turn to paint them with the help of an artist's brush and water. Depending on how much water is used, the image disappears in seconds or minutes, ready to be used again. The point is that life is fleeting, just a series of moments, and each can be as comfortable as we make it. But most of us are often too busy or too pre-occupied reference to these moments. This is positive if withdrawal is in.

People with dementia are simply overwhelmed by their surroundings, through the effort of dressing and grooming products, and by the enormous task of trying to sense their world. If they choose not to get involved in an activity, it is logical to assume that they believe there is too much for them to handle right now. They resolve to give themselves time to gather strength again. You can seem to be nothing to do, but you will be surprised by their thoughts. I once sat next to a small woman with Alzheimer's disease, had refused to participate in a rousing music concert. Instead, it will sat on a couch observed that the leaves hung on the route, as they billowed in the wind outside the window. They said, "Is not it lovely?" Positive withdrawal gives us time to look again with the lives of ordinary joys.

Someone told me the story of an American couple travelling on foot through the brush in Africa many years ago with local guides and porters. They were eager to reach an outpost before nightfall and were dismayed when the carrier is in peace for more than they deemed necessary. Finally, not meaning to cause offense, she asked the head leaders of the reason for the delay. He told the couple that the carriers believe they traveled too far, too fast. Now, he said, they waited for their souls to catch up to her body. Many of us exceeds the pace of our souls in our daily life. Positive withdrawal offers an opportunity to sit down and sort our priorities.

Lily Tomlin once formulated it another way: For fast-acting relief, try slowing down.

    Stop Obsessive Thoughts

Only those who suffer from obsessive thoughts know-how to torture and disturbing they are, or how much of a life, energy and mental resources in turn, was nothing more than an intellectual merry go round, not stop and won 't let the thinkers. No matter how hard a person who could try, no amount of will seems capable of stopping the intrusive thoughts, they will not just go away, at least not until they are good and ready to go. Normally this happens when there are a few ideas that are strong enough to replace them, and the whole cycle starts again.

Maybe obsessive thoughts would not be so bad if we feel comfortable. But this is more wishful thinking. Not only are the enormous mental space in our life, obsessive thoughts also tend to lead the thinkers and increased anxiety or distress. And if that was not bad enough, here is another fact of the compulsive thought the deadlock to be addressed: It is the wisdom that repetitive thinking about one thing, over a certain period, usually to the matter, as intended to show themselves in a life, but usually not the case, how to expect.

Understanding, one begins to a true picture of how much power obsessive thoughts about a person's life, because compulsive thoughts are really no more than psychological concentrated focus. And concentrated mental focus is the key to a great success story in life. Unfortunately, in the case of obsessive thoughts He focuses on mental something that is not more for the benefit of thinking. Rather, it is a way of pouring all his power thought the true obsessive thinkers drain.

Any has at least some idea that the malaise of their thought process is effectively put their Life, stagnating their ability to act entirely on his own account. But between them to know and to know how the change in the structure of obsessive thinking is a long journey by cognitive behavior therapy treatments, techniques, tools, medicines ... all offer from anywhere no relief to a full exemption for some.

I bin to a different solution, but you can hear me on this issue. This is an unknown to the mainstream "and only came to my attention, because I think I have probably almost exhausted, if not all the solutions offered from the large number of conventional wisdom claims expertise in this problem. The solution I am to explain, with brain entrainment binauralen beats, but a little first on the functioning of the mind and brain.

As we know, thoughts are really no more than an interactive response because of electrochemical activity in the brain. In turn feeds back the idea impulses to the brain, which in turn influence the thoughts again. Very good everything in the natural world can be seen as cyclical pattern. And what causes these patterns change over time is a constant series of subtle changes. Change is never directly. If it seems immediate, it is only because there were enough subtle changes in overtime to lead to further significant change. What has this to do with compulsive thinking you might ask? Everything, because changing idea requires a change in the electrochemical activity of the brain, or in other words brainwave frequency.

Sitting reading this, your brain electrochemical activity for a given Frequency. This also means that what a person obsessive thoughts may be experiencing corresponds to a specific frequency. Let us say that your thinking is obsessive about a brainwave frequency of 30Hz, the higher beta brainwave state (that is quite reasonable ). At this frequency of your brain electrochemical activity is from 10Hz say that the alpha brainwave state, and according to your mental, thinking, the state will be different. At 30Hz, you might feel anxious, excited, stressed ... whereas at a frequency of 10Hz you will most likely with a much more relaxed and calm state.

Now here is the important bit. If you have time, a habit, either by manual means, change your brainwave frequency, You change the habit, your thoughts. Complicated than that sounds, not his. Binaural beats are the Handbook, by whatever means you change your mind flash frequency and it is easy, relaxing and lasting.

To understand a little about how binaural beats work, it makes sense to understand a little about meditation. The benefits of meditation are many and can be profound. This is because meditation gradually the electrochemical activity of the brain by reducing its brainwave frequencies and to change their mental habits . This practice, a disciplined meditation technique over time to be found enormous benefit in all aspects of her life: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

But Meditation is a serious and often referred to as strict practice, which not for everyone. This is Where binaural beats brain comes in. Take Binaural beats in power, which causes the human brain, the same brainwave frequencies as meditation, and so do many effects of the benefits of meditation. What's more, if binaural beats are listened to regularly over a period of a few months, the results are permanent, because the brain creates new neural pathways, new electrochemical "habits" and thus a different mental condition. Binaural Beats offer an alternative "Off Beat" therapy for compulsive Thoughts, but they are also scientifically proven.

If They are tired of compulsive thinking and have tried several or all of the therapies and conventional solutions, binaural beats can only be what you have to for.

I Never Promised You a Rose Garden

What happened to the Rose Garden?

How many of us remember the song "I never promised you a rose garden, together with the sunshine, it has to be a little rain sometime ...?" How long did it take you to realize that life was not free of problems? I remember the first time it really dawned on me was when my father died in the early age of the 48th What a shock to think that things would never be the same. But the time to heal and seven months later began to heal my wounds, with a beautiful, dark hair baby girl named Shanna. It was the life over death, the Indian healing.

An old saying goes something like this, "not criticize others, until you walk in their moccasins." In other words, how do you know what's really going on until you actually have experienced what they are experiencing.

I previously thought, I knew it all. Always think? Unsolicited advice was thrown in the trash, unheard and not to know that life could be a mite bit easier if we had listened to our elders. But most of us have to learn the hard way. My father used to say that he graduated from "The School of Hard Knocks!" Now I know what he meant. Sometimes it takes a Whack on the head with a 2x4, before we get them! Why is it so difficult to learn the easy way? We are human and we are a stubborn lot.

My story is not very exciting, but one that must be shared. We can always learn from others and most of the time when we clean the wax our ears, we learn very useful things. Walking in other shoes is very important in life to learn what life is all about. Life is not "cut and dry, clear and simple", "calm and serene", "fun and frivolous, 'No matter what you have derived. If you do not suffer, you have nothing to deductions about what someone else should or should not do or have done. people who have not figured that out, all proud of the 'so-called' knowledge about the lives they have. Most of these people learn the hard way, and if it comes, it is a big Crash! Sometimes it takes two or three crashes before the message.

I am one of those people who if something went wrong, it had to be my fault. I felt like a very bad person. It never occurred to me that the walk through life was not smooth and free of problems. I do not know where I got my preconceived ideas, but I did it anyway. I also thought I was the supervisor of all and make everyone happy. Again, where did that come from? I had to learn that, although I continue to try. (I still have the problem today, but I am more aware of it and now it can sometimes suffocating.) Many of us, I at the top of the list, decided that it is my job to bear all the burdens. A person can not do too long without collapsing under the weight. And then, if we do not learn For the first time it happens again and again.

Are are people who apparently only learned in life the first time, or just know it from the beginning? Sometimes it seems so, but I doubt whether it is. We are all from the same material flawed and must learn in the same manner. Some only learn others.

Where lighter than the darkness come from?

Early in my adulthood, I learned what felt like depression, but I probably do not know what it . This was during the death of my dad.

To those who know nothing of depression, I am not too sad, with an atmospheric day, while in the landfill. I'm talking about downright dark, pit-live, and apparently no leader get out, depression. I've heard people use the term "drag from the bootstraps." This is a "Pat" response from someone who has never experienced all aspects of depression. depression comes from many places and for a variety of reasons. I consider myself an expert (but knew nothing), as I still struggles with many of depression and anxiety on the years.

As I was depressed and went to a hospital, it was a lady ready to me. It was tense, it seemed to show what I expected. "hand over your belongings, please." So I obediently hand over my bag and overnight purse. When she eagerly emptied everything she began collecting mirrors, fingernail Clippers, hair spray, etc. everything they said I could use to hurt myself. My thought was: "I was not planning hurt me, I came to take me over the hurt."

It seems to me, at least in my experience that the change may a major issue in depression. Again, I entered that deep, dark pit and thought I would never rise. I called on God to say: "You are the great physician. Why are you not only reach, and I heal? "I had a doctor tell me I had to go" by the river "before I could" on the other side. "I did not know anyone, had experienced so something, and it seems no one in our family always had either. So I was the other, a weak in the family. Everyone seemed to have their thoughts about what was wrong with me.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer at 80 and we care her for two years. (Wow, was that one of these changes!) I treated without incident, which made me consider why other stressful times, I did not handle things. My conclusion was that we had two years to prepare , Time to restore and injustice, right. And of course, the grace of our Lord. We shared our deepest thoughts and glued. I would be lying in bed with her singing ... they thought I sang like an angel. Bad Mama You never knew I could not "with a song in a bucket." (One of her favorite sayings) The angels have intervened, but it comforted her and in her weak state, they would love to talk directly with their fingers Director! Had

I a loving husband, was by my side and my "Rock" by all times. I was blessed.

And I also learned that there are people like me. normal run of the mill people had that something goes wrong on the emotional level their thoughts. People told me I was a fighter, and I would be. In my confused state, I had to believe that, as I had fought my way out of the dark pit that many times before. I learned life in the moment.

Yes, I have asked many times why I voted this way. I have a lot of time looking in the past, consider things that happened, became angry and then realized it does not matter. It is now, and I'm just living with now with so much enthusiasm, as I said can.

I a friend that I have lost all the pride I had, and today I am not ashamed that I have a weakness. I feel a tenderness to the people, injured, and I try not to find out why they do what they do or why they handle things a certain way. My concern is only to help them walk to their feet with as little pain as possible.

My God is unique because it does not need a particular place, with a specific name to show. He was in the oddest places, even "spiritual" hospitals. Let's get our great God "out of the box ', we in Him and let him, he is!

Speaking of psychiatric hospitals, I despise that name. I do not know why for sure, but not labeled mentally ill or in a mental hospital grates on my nerves. I think I must consider that a little more. I confess to being very "spiritual" sometimes, but I am a mentally healthy person, had something go wrong with a part of my body. We all become "intellectual" with one time or another. :-) No, I do not want the dark pit to return. And, hopefully, with what I have learned this time I will recognize the need to stay on meds and work with the doctors. I have learned that it is not wrong to take medication, nice to me and take care of my body, they are essential. I now have even permission to rest when I need to, not out of the house is not going to my house work done and even the permission to fight with my illness.

My admonition to you is that people have emotional breakdowns are not crazy, they are not pretending. And think about my friend, "would ever want to feel that way?" They are sick just like any other cancer, high blood pressure, etc. and must be treated. Yes, They could not understand. I think everyone should either (no I do not want you in this dark pit) or know somebody has to struggle with depression and anxiety. It is very difficult to understand what it was because You have experienced one way or another. You do not have knowledgeable, but you can care and supportive. And if you can see, there is a need for intervention, then make sure that you support them at the reception, which Steps they need.
